Mission/Vision: To enlighten, educate, encourage and facilitate the college community in the adoption and implementation of OERs in order to better take ownership of course materials and create continuously updated and inviting learning environments. Adoption of OERs can reduce financial burdens for students which could increase completion and retention at
LWTech and bolster student achievement to prepare students for today’s careers and tomorrow’s opportunities.

We are focused on getting information out to our college community on the benefits of using OER in partnership with or to replace traditional, expensive textbooks. We are working very focused on our core academic courses, but as a technical college we have many trades where there is a distinct lack of OER for each discipline. So we are also focusing on how to identify resources for our trades and more hands-on programs.
